Honda was created by Soichiro Honda in 1937. The company started off with the production of piston rings which were delivered to Toyota. The first motorcycle was produced in 1949 and the first car in 1963.
The first Honda automobile to be put onto the market was the T360 in 1963. The same year, Honda marketed the S500. The better-known Honda Civic was introduced in 1972.
To distinguish itself from its competitors including Nissan and Toyota, Honda has always used a front-wheel-drive train, which today has become a tradition for the manufacturer. In addition, Honda was the first Japanese manufacturer to create a luxury brand: the Acura.
