Nevertheless you should ensure your fuel filter is changed every 12 400 miles for gasoline engines and every 24 800 miles for diesel engines. The regular replacing of a fuel filter is especially important for a diesel engine as these tend to be more sensitive to irregularities in the fuel than gasoline engines.
