What does the exhaust consist of?
The
exhaust of a car ensures the exhaust fumes from the engine are cleaned and released into the atmosphere as quietly as possible. Consequently the exhaust is not just a pipe but includes three silencers and a
catalytic converter. The silencers are located at three different points: at the front, in the middle and at the end. All three contribute to the reduction of noise. In addition they have a filtering function meaning they clean the exhaust fumes from heavy metal particles which are dangerous for the environment. What happens if my exhaust doesn’t work properly? - Your car will use more fuel for the same distance - The polluting impact of your vehicle increases - Your car will make more noise - Your engine can become damaged A car with a faulty exhaust system will not pass its MOT.
